Two friends who decided to rise to the Georgia River Network Challenge to paddle 12 Georgia Rivers in 2012. We are both avid sea kayakers, but have been a little less active on the fresh water. This year will remedy that, and this blog will document it.

Liz and Mary, I enjoyed very much paddling with you all on the Ebenezer. What an awesome river. I think this was as low as I have seen the water which made it even more beautiful with the exposed Cypress trunks. I’m looking forward to our paddle on the Ogeechee and to your next blog.

  2. Absolutely inspiring idea! My husband and I have just got my 1970’s Klepper Aerius II (a gift from my father) ready to paddle, and we’re eager to get on the water. Total paddling newbies, but ready to learn. I think a 12 in 12 Missouri rendition is in order! 😀

I have a question about the tidal lag on the Canoochee…. At what point and time does the high tide peak or turn under “normal conditions” from a reference point that is easy to find on typical tidal charts? I’m trying to paddle the same route that you did.

Also, I paddle a solo canoe here on the coast and am always looking for paddling buddies. I’d LOVE to paddle with y’all sometime if you’d like the company. I paddled on the Ogeechee last weekend and it was beautiful.

My e-mail is dalemcaldwell@gmail.com and it sounds like we probably have some common friends!
